Power Struggle

Coach and I have a pretty good marriage. Well, now we do. I might have mentioned a time or two that the first 12 years or so really were not so enjoyable. Anyway, things are good now. While we don't always agree on everything (and let's face it, no one ever really wants to be married to someone that never, ever, disagrees with them), we don't often seriously disagree.

Except when it comes to this. This? Is a constant power struggle between us.

And I will go on the record right now as saying one thing.

Coach? Is WRONG. He completely does this wrong.

Which is why I correct it every time I walk in and sit down. And I'm not exaggerating by much when I say EVERY time. Because that man? Is insistent he's right. But we all know he's not. And knowing that is enough for me.

That, and reminding him I'm right.

You didn't clarify - the way it's hung in the photos is RIGHT. I hope you're not delusional enough to be saying that's the way Coach hangs it and he's not right.

Oh my goodness! My husband also does this same thing WRONG. He insists it doesn't make a difference. But we've got little kids, so the way he does it? Isn't the most "kid-friendly".

as long as you fixed it BEFORE the pictures were taken, then I'll agree with you :)

by the by... the "other way" a.k.a. the "wrong way" is handy only when there are little kids in the house (can't unroll it as quickly) but for grown-ups (or anyone past the age of being thrilled by spinning TP) - it's gotta roll off the top :)

Over, not under. Unless you are a nine year old boy, at which point I'm just ecstatic it made it onto the roller at all. If we do it under, the kids will roll the whole dang thing onto the floor before they figure out it is under at the time. UGH.

Haha...I'm not the only one wondering if over is wrong or right. I'm an over. Ugh, the other day I brainlessly put it on the wrong way and just didn't have it in my to correct it. I spent the whole next two days cringing every time I went to grab some tp. Obviously, I've been quite sick to put myself through that agony ;)

I do the exact same thing. Usually though it's my 7 year old that puts it on wrong, but I can't stand it on backwards.

Oh I gave up ages ago, no one ever puts it on the way I want it done, So I. GIVE. UP!

It doesn't matter in our house, and it's hung differently every time, no matter who hangs it. But I recently read about a major snob hotel which insists that over the top is correct. They even fold the end into a point.

Here's a link to interesting TP facts:

Laughing so hard, then not laughing at all when I realize that I never have that problem since I am THE ONLY person in the house who will ever put a roll on the holder.

You definitely have it right in your photos. Which I'm sure it felt weird taking a picture of your toilet paper roll!

My in-laws put it on the other way. It took about fourteen years of training, now my hubby puts in on the right way.

At least he puts it on the holder. My husband just sets it on the counter.
