Like Sands Through The Hourglass.....

First, some random bits of information that might prove useful if you're going to stick around my "locker room" for any length of time.......

As predicted, there is no longer a need to give Senior a better name. She is no more. (Well, she still IS, just not with Jock. And actually, if you remind me in just a bit, I've got some teenage drama for you. 'Cuz I know you all miss that from your own teenage years. Admit it.)

Bug? Is getting his 504 plan. I wrote that email to the teacher. And copied it to the principal, the assistant principal, the school counselor, the school psychiatrist, the district psychiatrist and the district Director of Special Education. And then I got a phone call from the teacher later that afternoon. He apologized. He admitted he didn't know what he was dealing with and was a bit out of his depth. He said that he had a meeting with the principal and the school psychiatrist to get more information on what Bug is struggling with, and they both strongly recommended that we implement the 504 plan. There will be a meeting with all of us to work out the details, probably next week. And I? Feel amazingly fantastic about the entire thing.

Ok... so on to the drama.....

I'm beginning to question Jock's list of acceptable qualities in a girlfriend. Remember this one? Senior is proving to be quite the drama queen, too. I'm ok with admitting that she's the one who broke up with Jock. Mainly because he's ok with that admission, too. Turns out he just wasn't that into her. It's the way she did it that irks me. Do you remember when you were in high school? Break ups were done in several different ways, but always.... ALWAYS... face to face. Because by the time we were in high school, there was at least always the illusion of being grown ups with a higher level of maturity.

Senior? Did not break up face to face. She didn't send a friend to do it for her. She didn't call and break up over the phone. So how did she do it? I hear you all asking.

Via text. Which Jock didn't see for a couple of hours because he's learned his lesson about checking his cell phone during class after ending up with an all day In School Suspension for doing that once. He actually heard he wasn't going out with her from someone in the hall before he got the message. She then spent the bus ride home listing all the reasons she, as a senior, was superior to the all the underclassmen. Especially Jock. Who, brilliant boy that I'm raising, just ignored her. Well, he gave her a thumbs up first; and then ignored her.

And the next day.... got himself a new girlfriend.

Senior? Apparently does not like this new development. At all. She spent today's bus ride home polling the audience.... She's prettier than New Girl, right? She KNOWS she's got better hair than New Girl. Besides, New Girl is only a freshman. There's no way a lowly freshman can compare to a senior. Right? And then she looked at Jock, and called him a ManWhore.

At this point, Jock had to stop his story because I had started laughing. Hard.

My 15 year old, only had a handful of girlfriends, is absolutely committed to living and dating sex-free until well after high school..... a ManWhore? Oh, that was just too funny! But, back to the story.....

He looked at her, gave her two thumbs up this time, and turned away from her to continue the conversation he had been having with a friend.

Here is where I pointed out a few things to him. One, she's a senior.... who is still riding the school bus. The only one on this bus. But more importantly, though I could give him a laundry list of the best comebacks and slams, he was doing the absolute best thing he could ever do. By ignoring her and her toxicity, he was showing her how unimportant she really was to his life. And that was better than anything he could actually say to her.

Coach and I are really quite proud of him. Although I suspect it's for different things right now.

A ManWhore? Really?

No that is funny! The first thing I thought was wait--was he reading his text or was she still actually on the bus? Yeah, looks like this is one senior a couple years short for graduation!
Great job to Jock for not only giving her the thumbs up, but for finding himself some 'jock' worthy people to talk to instead.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again--GREAT job with this fabulous Kiddo mama! He is one cool kid!

Oh, and I just read the BI story--wow--not looking forward to high school AT ALL!!! Thank god I have a few years!

face to face is not done anymore, every one is texting, your dating yourself. Even at the college level the kids text or they are using myspace; facebook to communicate this is just how they do it now a days! But you should be proud of your son.

Oh WOW, SM. You and Coach are raising one hell of a boy. You have so many reasons to be proud of Jock it's not even funny. You rock, Mama. And getting Bug's 504 he way you did? Magic. :) Give yourself a huge pat on the back and take your beautiful testosterone machines to dinner this weekend!

I'm really glad you said you were laughing because I was busting up over the DRAMA of it all. It's so funny to think back to when we got caught up in that kind of stuff, especially now that we have the perspective to realize just how hysterical it all is. Go team Jock!

OH, the drama!!!! Am I really up for this stuff in a few years? I'm scared enough to be on the boy side of it, but I have two girls to deal with too!!!

I'm afraid of girls like Senior. I can only hope that Isaac handles situations like this in the future with the same finesse that your Manwhore did (it IS funny!).

AND I am so super proud of you for sticking to your guns and getting Bug what he needs. BRAVO Mama!

Glad you're gonna get the issue resolved with Bug...

As for Jock's issue? I totally agree. Ignoring her is probably the best advice I could give.

I'm sure it eats at her!

Jock is perfect. He is confident and secure in himself. Little Miss drama is obviously not. You raised a good one Sports Mama.

This is all just SO high school. Jock is way too mature for this. Good going Sports Mama (and Coach!).

I, for one, have never texted anyone. I'm so out of date.

I can not stop giggling about the whole "manwhore" thing. That poor girl...still having to ride the bus as a senior!!! Yikes! It is fun reading about all these teenager issues. I'm sure glad that I have a while until that one.

My God the drama. I am so glad I never have to do high school again. Yay for ditching the trollop, Jock!

Ignoring her is killing her. Definitely that is hands-down the best response he could give her.
I won't discuss the senior riding the bus bit other than to say my senior rides the bus because he's too lazy to get a job and his own vehicle, of which his father volunteered to pay half for... a damn good offer for any high school kid. So the bus it is.

Okay, like others...I was thinking 'she still rides the bus?' which means that she obviously doesn't even have good friends that will give her a ride. Manwhore...jeez...that's classic.
