He Called In Reinforcements

I've been doing laundry for a lot of years. Which is really quite a few more than I'd like, and not nearly as many as I'm going to experience. I started doing laundry while I still lived at home, and along the way I've added several loads to my level of laundry responsibility. And I'm sure that as my boys continue to grow into men, engaging in multiple sports that all seem to include a lot of dirt, sand and grass stains, I will add many more.

Over the course of my parenthood, I have lost count of how many times I've told the boys to be more careful with their clothes. Especially when they were younger. Well, when Jock was the same age as Bug; and when they were both younger. Those boys are so extremely, ridiculously hard on the knees of their jeans. Heck, just on knees, period. Baseball pant knees, football pant knees, boy knees. They all have had holes. Its just the boy knees that mend themselves.

It is not nearly as often as I'd like that one of my children actually listens to me. Not only listens to me, but takes that extra step to follow my advice. Jock has, it seems, grown out of the constant need to put holes in the knees. I don't think Bug is content to wait and just let himself outgrow it. That, or he has been seized by the "gotta one-up my big brother" virus. While doing laundry this week I discovered (quite by accident I'm sure, as stealth is always promoted around here) just how far Bug is willing to go to be more careful with his clothes.

I can now say, with all certainty, that my laundry is going to be well taken care of.

HAHA! I think I need one of those little green men for MY laundry!! Do you think he'd actually DO it for me??

This may or may not shock you, but Gracie rivals Isaac in the hard on the knees department!!

Hey. That's intelligence. Sadly, in the last month I've washed a pull up (oh the mess!) and a hardback book (oh the mess!). I'd kill for an army guy.

Keeping laundry safe, one washer at a time.
I usually find pens, and the occasional cell phone in the laundry washer. After it's too late, of course.

At least he's got the laundry in control. The dryer is a whole nother story.

Clever is usually the culprit in our family. Peanut butter cracker wrappers, rocks, flowers, strings of yarn, spit out gum in the wrapper.

HAHAHA That is too funny! Wish I had reinforcements at this moment! The only reason I am up is because I am waiting on laundry!

I, personally, would have just thought they were giving you yet MORE work to do. Here, wash my soldier's laundry, too.

In my washer I find toys, barrets, ribbons, rocks and school prizes. I'm surprised my washer has held up this long.

You can rest assured your laundry will be safe with the little green army guy on watch.

I think its a boy thing to wear out the knees of thier pants and stuff things inside the pockets although I have drilled into my kids that if they like it they better not leave it in thier jeans cause if i find it in the wash it goes in the trash.

Laundry duty takes on a whole new meaning. Good thing he didn't put it in the oven, it wouldn't have fared so well.
