Things You ALWAYS Wondered About.....

.....but never quite got around to asking me.

Yep, I've been tagged. Chris over at The Superdad Chronicles, tagged me for this meme. Seven things you didn't already know about me. Seeing as how I've admitted here that I don't even shave my legs on a daily basis, is there really anymore you WANT to know?

However, the gauntlet has been thrown down. Now all I have to do is think of seven things that might be marginally interesting. :)

1. I might have mentioned on here a time or two that I have an obsession..... err, have the hots for.... umm, maybe I should just say REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE..... Keifer Sutherland. From the first moment I saw him in Lost Boys (although it might have been Stand By Me... I can never remember which one of those came out first) I have been head over heels for him. Seriously, I've seen every movie he's ever done. I start my countdown to 24 every year at Christmas. His pictures are plastered all over my wallpaper on my computer at home. I was only *sort of* joking when I said that I would leave my fairytale Utopia at the drop of a hat for him. All he'd have to do is look in my general direction. Coach knows this, understands this, and has vowed to support it should we ever find ourselves in the same location as my beloved Keifer.

2. I have not ridden an actual bicycle since I was in the 9th grade. That would be 20 years, for those of you trying to figure it out. I've ridden the occasional exercise bike, but not one that could actually take me anywhere. I have no idea why this is, but neither do I have ANY inclination to change it.

3. When I was in high school, I wanted to fly fighter jets. I even went and took the military entrance exam, and was told I scored higher than 90% of the MEN that take it. I know I scored higher than my baby brother who is currently in Naval Intelligence. Two things stopped me from actually enlisting. 1~~My vision is beyond ridiculously bad. Its so bad that I can't even pilot commercial planes, and probably wouldn't even be allowed to get my private pilot's license; and 2~~ The recruiter informed me that at that time they still were not allowing women to actually control the cockpit of fighter planes. Not being the patient sort (really, more of the instant gratification sort) I was not willing to wait until the military changed its ways. So, I walked out. I did, however, thank the recruiter very politely for having spent so much time with me, and even for taking me to sit for the exam.

4. My favorite professional sport is hockey. Why? Because of all the checking and cheap shots. Some sports are just more fun to watch when they get bloody. It also might be because my kids don't play it, so I'm therefore free to enjoy the bloodshed without any worry that my kids will one day be in that position.

5. I've never been to Disneyland. I can tell you Goofy's original name, have watched every Disney movie ever created, I even know the names of Daisy Duck's nieces. But I have never been to the Magic Kingdom. I think I've about got Coach talked into taking me there for my 50th birthday. Granted, that's not for 15 years; but I WILL go in my lifetime. This I swear.

6. I can't read music, but I can sing with near perfect pitch anything I've heard once. I was in several musical performances in high school, and in the top performance groups, but I could never read the sheet music. I've also done a lot of performances at various events, but again, I have always needed someone to sing/play the piece for me first. My mom is the same way.

7. Strange family factoid: There are 10 years between my mom and her youngest brother. There are 10 years between me and my youngest brother. There are 9 years between my uncle and myself. There are 9 years between Jock and my youngest brother. (Also, while not really about me, Jock had the exact same weight and measurements as Coach did at birth, while Bug had the exact same weight and measurements as Coach's younger brother.)

Ok. There you have it. Seven things you never knew you wanted to know about me. I'm supposed to tag some of you for this, but I won't. For one, I think I've seen this on a few of your blogs already. For another, you've all mentioned how tired of doing this particular meme you are.

So thank me. I'm sparing you.

Keifer Sutherland is pretty cool. I even have the Lost Boys CD! The bicycle thing is so funny. I keep telling myself I'm going to buy one of those trailers so my little ones can ride in it and we can all go out for a ride. I don't think I've got on a bike in over ten years.

*high fives for your hockey answer*

Man, I knew there was a reason I liked you. ;)

Strangely, I just cannot stand Keifer. I don't know what it is about him that just makes me lock my jaws. Maybe it's the lack of humor in most of the roles he has played. I have a thing for guys who can make me laugh.

I can't even begin to explain the whole Keifer thing. *shrug* But that hasn't stopped it! :)

Sue, I figured you'd agree with the hockey thing!

Kidzmama, if you've got that DVD, you are my new BFF! :)

Okay, all this time I thought that aside from having coach husbands you and I had very little in common (which doesn't matter--Jon and I are very VERY different in a lot of ways and we're still friends...:)). I was wrong! We have number 6 to be friends on! I can't read a lick of music, but I hear it once and we're good!

I hadn't ridden a bike since elementary school until Jon came home with a bright purple bike a few years ago. I really stink at riding the stupid thing and rarely use the Barney bike.

THANK YOU FOR SPARING US!!

I loved your list but I think #7 was a stretch - I think you TOTALLY ran out of things so you just started reaching for straws!! :-)

I'll take you to meet Mickey if you want = no red blooded American should have to wait until they are 50!

Hi I just found your blog and this was a good place to start, with 7 randoms things. I enjoyed it! BTW, Disneyworld is great. Go there if you get the chance. We went a few years ago and I wasn't too excited. It was SO much more fun than I expected.

Okay, first, YOU ARE SO YOUNG.

Second, who on earth shaves their legs every day? I go most of the winter without shaving once. Yuck. Probably TMI - sorry.

Third, that last one was just spooky, like the Abe Lincoln/JFK facts. Weird, but fun.

Thanks for sharing. I'm a little sick of meme's too, which was I didn't tag anyone on the one I did today. Thanks for not sharing. :)

Cecily, I'm so glad you found something else in common with me! :)

LBB, its one of my absolute favorites!!

Kidzmama, I am so jealous!!! I can't seem to find it anywhere! Finally managed to get Blockbuster to send it to me, but I had to eventually send it back. And since I don't have a DVD burner, I am once again Lost Boy-less.

Hallie, you're somewhat right... I ran out of things that I thought anyone would find remotely interesting. But I still have always found it a bit odd that the age difference thing is like that. :) And.... since you sound like you are friends with Mickey, you can introduce me to that mouse anytime you feel like it! :)

Hi Maria! Welcome! Please let me know how you found me (so I can continue to bribe the right person for mentioning me!) and please come back often! :)

Flea, I don't feel that young anymore! ;)

I LOVE hockey, too. Except, I don't like actually going to games. It's so much easier to drool over the majesty that is Sydney Crosby when I'm not being distracted by the fat guy two rows down that keeps yelling obscenities and spilling his beer.

You need to go to Amazon.com. They have it in stock.

Amazon.com rocks! You can get the Lost Boys there. DROOL over that movie! YUM!
Great 7 things.
I got tagged, too and I am saving it for a rainy brain day :-)
Interesting 7 things.
Dude, how can you not shave? Not every day... but still. I just have to :-) LOL.
I'm weird though.

Keifer....I had a crush on him once upon a time. Flatliners is the movie for me, don't ask me why.

Never been to Disneyland!?!
Your kidding?
You could drive there, couldn't you?
Why wait 15 years, take the boys now.

Your hockey comment is making me giggle something fierce. You love it for the naughty!

Goofy had a different name? I haven't been to Disneyland either. Just world.

I am so jealous of the perfect pitch thing.

I LOVED going to hockey games when we were in Alaska. It's my fave sport, aside from anything equine. But I'm mad at Keifer for keeping me up too many nights during my last pregnancy. I seriously laid awake wondering why that one lady planned to destroy the world on her wedding day.

I've also realized that I'm older than you are. Suddenly I'm feeling that I could be the oldest blogger ever.

Hey, thanks for stepping up to my meme! "24" is just awesome! I can't wait. I bought a bike last summer...first one I've had in ten years. Then, I rode it about 10 times. Now it sits. :-)
