Another 1:00 AM Laundry Time

Our weekend started like all of our weekends will start from here to the end of May.... with baseball. With both boys practicing Friday night, we didn't get home until almost 9 pm. Trust me when I say that is the norm for both football and baseball seasons. This is once again the time when Mac~n~Cheese is not just an occasional quick meal, but a weekly staple. Where I force feed my family Hamburger Helper, because it's fairly quick. Where we don't get to eat meat other than hamburger except for Saturdays or Sundays because it takes too long to thaw during the week and bedtime is as close to 9 pm as we can get it for all three of my guys. *sigh* I love it!

Saturday started another round of baseball. Coach and Bug had practice, and (I can't decide if he was being thoughtful to me, or selfishly taking all the X-Box time he could get) Jock let me sleep in a bit. However, when I got up, it was run, run, run until ..oh.... just about now. See, we had something incredibly cool planned for Sunday, so we needed to get all of our weekend honey-do's done in one day. Really, it would have been nice if that had completely happened the way it should have. We DID get the grocery shopping done, though, and that was a nice couple of hours with Coach.

Saturday evening was spent hanging out and Coach's brother's new house. With Mama G (which wasn't bad, as she's not always running around screaming like a loon), and all of my nieces and nephews (which, while not "bad", is definitely noisier..... remember? Two sets of twins under age 7? Yeah... that kind of noise). We had gathered to watch the UFC fight, which also is not known for being a quiet activity. Oh! And throw in the bird and the cranky cat that now live with him.... it was a lot of noise.

Now, as fun as all of that was, it in no way compared to what was in store for today. One of the other companies that shares office space with my company had some extra tickets to today's minor league hockey game. They didn't have any clients to share them with, and none of their people could go, so they offered them to me, free of charge. They just didn't want them to go to waste. That would be a generous offer with normal arena tickets, but these weren't just normal arena tickets. Oh no. These were tickets In.The.LUXURY.SUITE!!

Yes, I said THE LUXURY SUITE. Unlimited free drinks. Oh yes... that included beer! Free food. Well, free snacks. Seems that minor league hockey doesn't rate as high as the professional basketball team that shares the arena. Oh well. Did I mention FREE BEER and Diet Coke?

Take a look at that bad boy. It was amazing!! (Yeah, yeah..... there I go again with the crappy cell phone pictures.... one of these days I'll buy a phone strictly for its camera. Until then, you get this.)

And we were so close to the action!! We could hear ever slap of every stick on the ice! Bug was amazed to be able to hear all of the ice being sprayed when the players would skid. (I know there is a term for that, he even said it to me... but its late, I've been doing laundry, and I just can't remember it! Sue, you're the hockey afficionado... help me out here!) Its kind of hard to tell in this picture, but being this close was so awesome!

But really? I think my favorite part of the day was this:

Sitting there, with my Bug, enjoying the game. He was so focused on the action on the ice. I don't think he took his eyes off it for more than a minute or two. And see that jersey he's wearing? That, my friends, represents my favorite hockey team.... my hometown boys.... the Colorado Avalanche. Jock originally had it about 10 years ago. And even though Sue might possibly disagree with me on this one, that jersey belongs to quite possibly the most incredibly amazing NHL goalie of all time, Patrick Roy. Go ahead. Google him. Then come back and tell me how much you agree with me.

Until then, I'm going to be spending the rest of my night finishing the 8 loads of laundry that didn't get done yet this weekend. It could very well be a long night.

And on a different note.....

I'm sure you've all noticed my new look. Remember a couple of days ago when I so nicely asked for some help remodeling? (Ok.... so it was blatant begging!) Well, I've got to give the credit to a couple of my peeps for the new and improved look of things. First, Amy at Memories and Musings of a Mommy helped me get organized. Then the Burgh Baby's Mom took pity on my sad little header and graciously revamped it for me.

So..... what do you think?

Enjoyed pictures, but you should treat yourself and go buy a camera!

I think I have a permanet mark on my right eye from video camera from all the sports I filmed of my son. I didn't film baseball..wondering why is that?

Have a great Monday!

Your space cleaned up nicely! Now I've gotta do mine because it surely must be the last one in the blogosphere that's still lame. *sigh*

How fun - a hockey game! It's one of my fave sports, both to watch and play. (Not saying much from someone who's not athletic, but I do enjoy it.)

Huckdoll, wasn't he AMAZING?? LOVED him!

Debbie, we've actually got a real camera, and always remember it for our kids' games. Just plum forgot to bring it with us yesterday!

Wow! What a great Sunday!

I didn't know that you are a Colorado native. My brother and sister-in-law lived there for five years, and we visited them often. They just moved to Montana, so no more Denver for me.

GREAT new look! Love the redesign!

While I do agree that Roy is a great goalie, I'm partial to Brodeur.

I have only two comments on Roy...

Vernon vs. Roy

and

Osgood vs. Roy

Go Mike!

Go Ozzie!

Nuff said.

LOL!

Glad you had a great time. I'm sooooo jealous. Green. Green with envy!

Oh, and cool new digs!

Sue, Sue, Sue..... I knew you'd disagree with me. But like any true fan, my fingers were stuck in my ears and my eyes were shut tight so as not to hear or see even one instance of slander against my precious Roy. :P

Heheheh

You had me at free beverages, by the way. If only I could get luxury suite seats at a Pens game . . . Crosby (he'll be back later this week I think) and free beverages? Heavenly.
