Photo Albums Are For Memories, Right?

Being the parent of a teenager is a job that can't always be described as easy. There are times you forget how fun it can be, and lose sight of how rewarding it truly is.

There are the struggles over homework.

There are the many, many, many requests to give in to one thing or another.

There is the steady growing older that they do, never realizing that it ages their parents as well.

There can be the endless rounds of sports practices and games, always feeling like you're getting home just to leave again.

But when you see them grin at you.....

And watch how they treat other people in their lives...

You really start to see just what it is about them that will lead to you gaining a daughter-in-law in about ten to fifteen years.

That last picture? Jock is holding his little cousin as they watch fireworks on the 4th of July! :)

Absolutely brilliant.

Do you think he could wait for a girl about 10 years his junior? I'm just sayin'... we'd be awesome in-laws.

I can definitely relate to this. I especially like how you memorialized the handwritten note! I have a few of those too and as mine got older..21 and 23, I still get birthday cards and holiday cards with "thank you for putting up with me, for doing all you do for me and for teaching me about the world." Keep these in safe keeping to read on a Blue Day!

We're almost to the teenage stage with our first (well, that's going by the calendar -- personally I think we're already there). Thank you for giving me hope.

I'm so glad you clarified on that last picture because it was freaking me out a bit. The love on his face is quite evident and I don't care how old he is - he's not old enough to make you a MIL yet!
