In case you're new here, or just don't remember, my anniversary is this Friday. My wedding anniversary, to be specific. And in a lucky stroke of coincidence, Friday is also Coach's wedding anniversary. We thought, just for kicks, we'd spend our anniversaries together. A novel idea, I know. But that's Coach and I; trendsetters.

With the budget being what it is this year, we've been trying to decide what to do that is inexpensive. We're ok with cheap, too. And hey! Free works even better! Unfortunately, world economy being what it is, free doesn't happen too often. So we're back to trying to decide what to do.

To start, the boys have agreed to spend the night at Grandma's. Ok, so maybe agree isn't quite the right word. It might be more along the lines of folded under the extreme torture methods we used during our persuasion session. Can't say I blame them, really. When I was their age, being told that one of the reasons my absence was requested was going to be due to parental nudity.... well, I'd have caved, too.

It's a rule, though. Married adults, more specifically those who have had children, are required to spend their wedding anniversary evening naked. I had to remind the boys that we don't always make the rules, we just have to follow them like everyone else does.

Carrying on....

When I discovered that the most recent Mummy movie was being released to DVD this week, I thought that might be a fun thing to rent and watch at home. You know, since we were going to be naked an unable to leave the house. (I considered Mama Mia, but remembered that this is his anniversary, too, so I should be willing to give in a little. If I still haven't seen it by Valentine's Day, though... all bets are off. That sucker will be in my DVD player!) But the biggest dilemma remained what to do for dinner. After all, I am NOT a good cook. There are not enough ways to emphasize this. And since I want him to live to celebrate the next anniversary I really needed to come up with a different plan to feed him.

Remember this post? Look at #59 again.

In today's mail, Coach and I received a lovely anniversary card from his dad and step mom. (side note? We love these guys just like we love mom and step dad. I personally HATE the prefix of "step" in there, but am using it to differentiate between the two moms) In this card were some awesome gift cards for use at Cracker Barrel. If I ever needed proof that family reads this, that gave it to me! Coach and I were wondering why they had selected that particular restaurant, and it occurred to me that I had mentioned that I wanted Coach to take me there for this anniversary.

Don't I have the best in-laws? Time and again, all of them keep showing me how blessed I am to have married into this family. They are also proving how much they love Coach. How do I know this, you ask? How do gift cards to Cracker Barrel prove that, you're wondering?

They've eaten my cooking.

Exactly. 'Nuff said.

Happy Anniversary! Gift cards are from heaven. My inlaws gave me a bunch of different gift cards to several restaurants. It was the best gift ever. I too, am not the best cook, and I absolutely do not like cooking. So...love the gift cards. Enjoy your nayked time. :)

What section of Cracker Barrel is clothing optional?

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! And Hallie has a good point. I think I'd never set foot in a Cracker Barrel again if there was a clothing optional eating section.

The cracker barrel in MY town has a strict no shoes no service policy - but I've never seen mention of other attire in there...

Happy Anniversary

The last time I went to the Cracker Barrel all sorts of naked, a few people gave me dirty looks. I'm sure you'll be fine, though, since people down there are much more progressive in their thinking.

Happy anniversary!

Happy Anni. And, I have to disagree with the naked. I always pass out before we get that far. The required bottle of wine that we get only once a year? ALways on the anni.
